Jo Copeland

Fashion designer Jo Copeland began her fifty-year career in the 1920s, when “American fashion” did not exist, as most clothing made in the United States sought to mimic European styles. She created glamorous outfits, like her famous “two-piece suit,” that were uniquely American, and received awards for her designs.
