The first ever Jewish women's discussion television show, THE SALON, was shot here on August 31st, 2009. Clips and information about THE SALON are available online at www.tjctv.com/tjc-original-programming/the-salon.
THE SALON is a monthly television series on The Jewish Channel, a cable network available across the U.S., and is hosted by Forward Editor Jane Eisner -- the first woman to serve in that position -- with Mediaite.com Editor-at-Large Rachel Sklar.
Each episode features a panel of women from across the spectrum of Jewish life, discussing a range of topics of interest to Jewish women. Guests on the first season of THE SALON have included former Manhattan Borough President and current head of the American Jewish World Service Ruth Messinger; award-winning actress Tova Feldshuh ("Golda's Balcony," "Kissing Jessica Stein"); the first female Orthodox pulpit rabbi, Rabba Sara Hurwitz; Hadassah president Nancy Falchuk; comedian Judy Gold; acclaimed novelist Dara Horn; Jewish Orthodox Feminist Alliance executive director Robin Bodner; and many others.
