Jewish Women on the Map - Daisy Brand exhibit at the Northern Clay Center
Location
An exhibit by ceramicist Daisy Brand opened at the Northern Clay Center on January 13, 2006. Daisy Brand was originally from eastern Czechoslovakia. After surviving Auschwitz and a number of other concentration camps, she emigrated to the U.S. by way of Israel.
In Boston, MA, she studied ceramics at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and the University of Boston. Her work, though ambiguous, references the Holocaust with a focus on landscapes and architecture.
