Lesléa Newman has created 86 books for readers of all ages including the dual memoir-in-verse, I Carry My Mother and I Wish My Father and the children’s books Ketzel, The Cat Who Composed, Welcoming Elijah: A Passover Tale With A Tail, The Babka Sisters, GIttel’s Journey: An Ellis Island Story, and Joyful Song: A Naming Story. Her literary awards include two National Jewish Book Awards and the Association of Jewish Libraries Sydney Taylor Body-of-Work Award.
