I agree with Lawrence Bush . . . Helen Menken was not Jewish. Her father, Frederick Meinken, who was Jewish, married an Irish emigrée, Mary Madden, and I've found absolutely no evidence that Mary converted to Judaism, or that the family maintained any connection with the Jewish community.
