Ballerina Doll Produced by the Alexander Doll Company

As was the case with so many of her dolls, Beatrice Alexander intended her ballerinas to inspire children to learn about art and culture. "When I designed my ballerina," she said, "it was really to encourage little girls to dance, to make them more graceful."
Quoted in Vivian Brown, "Dolls for the Bicentennial," The Herald (Titusville, PA), March 25, 1975.
