As a boy, my cousin Martin Skala and I (Julius Sofer), were tasked by my Aunt; Lilia Skala to visit Ms. Shalek, in her apartment on the lower east side of Manhatten on the day after Christmas (26th), with some gifts and food. My Aunt was an Actress, and fellow Austrian Soroptimist. Martin didn't like going alone and I was happy to come along because Frau Schalek had the most interesting photo. albums of the 1st WW and she would take them out when she saw me and I would look at those photo's until we left an hour later. I always wondered what happened to those albums. My Aunt thought they had probably gone to a nephew who lived on Long Island. For my part I found them amazing and would think that whomever has them should have them published.
