I am Tehila Ofer, co-author with Zeev Ofer of the book (in Hebrew) "HAVIVA - the Life, Mission and Fall of the paratrooper Haviva Reick", Sifriat Poalim publisher 2004, 2005. I wonder why our book is not included with the bibliography of the article although its author already read it in 2005. Actually many facts are just as written in our book but I have some remarks: 1. the family name is REICK (as in the copy of her birth certificate p. 359); 2. her husband name was ARON (marriage certificate, copy in photo pages); 3. the couple went separately to Palestine and their marriage was a love story as quoted from letters and testimonies; 4. Haviva didn't move to kibbutz Shamir but for a while to kibbutz Beth Zera; 5. she volunteered for the Palmah when her kibbutz (Maanit) was asked to provide a woman to its ranks, Haviva and Surika actualy served in different companies and met only at a corporal training course; 6. the first week in Slovakia before her three fellows joined Banska Bistrica she acted by herself to organize Jewish people with the logistic help of the Free Slovakian Army and the Partisans; 7. prior to their capture Haviva and her fellows helped to rescue some 60 American and British escapees in order to be repatriated. Thanks for your attention, Tehila Ofer
