This fine article is thoroughly accurate, with one very trivial correction needed. Pauline Newman was born in 1887, not in 1890, and thus was 99 when she died.
I am the husband of Elisabeth Burger, since 1971. Pauline Newman lived in our home for the final years of our life, at 33 Wet 67th Street, New York, NY. I personally have seen and held in my hands her U.S, passport, in which her date of birth was given as 1887. Presumably, this entry was based on information she had provided to the State Department in her passport application.
In all probability, this original passport is still in our possession, somewhere buried in our files, and I have been unable to locate it. If I am incorrect, then it would have her accompanied her personal papers which my wife Elisabeth Burger donated many years ago to the Schlesinger Library at Radcliffe College. It would be worth a search there. However, I am quite positive in this recollection.
