My Mother Sara Sita Schragenheim RN was reported to have been recruited by Henrietta Szold in New York City to work in the first Hadassah Hospital in Palestine. It was known that she was not yet a US national. I have a picture showing her with the nursing staff and was told that she served as head nurse at some time. There is another picture showing her and the other nurses, men who may be doctors and several women in big hats. Does anyone have any other personal documentation about the first people who were there at the hospital? i am most eager to find out more information about this period in my mothers' career. these years were part of a life filled with service and adventure, wars, peace, nursing, refugee resettlement, travel to egypt [pictute on a camel] etc., etc. I can not tell you how much this means to me.
