The article above says that Devorah Baron, is considered to be the first female to write in Modern Hebrew.

This is not accurate, though she was one of the first Hebrew woman fiction writers. The first women to write and publish in Hebrew were Haskalah figures from the mid 19th century who wrote private letters as well as public and essays which they sent to various Haskalah journals and. The first Hebrew woman novelist was Sarah Feige Meinkin Foner, who published a novel in 1882. In terms of Hebrew short story writing, Baron began writing at the same time as Hava Shapiro (1878-1943). Nechama Pukhachevsky and Hemda Ben Yehudah also began writing in the early part of the 20th century.
