Marina Arbib (née Cavarocchi) graduated with honors in philosophy from the University of Milan and received her Ph.D. in philosophy of religion at Perugia University. She has taught Jewish modern philosophy at Tel Aviv University and has been visiting professor at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, Paris. Since 1992, she has been a researcher at the Diaspora Research Institute, Tel Aviv University, and in the framework of her research on the history of the Jews in Italy has developed a special interest in Italian Jewish women. Arbib’s publications include books on Kafka, Gershon Scholem and modern Jewish thought from an interdisciplinary perspective, as well as several articles. As part of a wider study on the biblical figure of Esther in the early modern tradition, she wrote about Sara Copio Sullam. Forthcoming work focuses on “Rachel Morpurgo and Flora Randegger, two Triestines in a changing age.”
