The Legacy of Ma’yan

A program of JCC Manhattan that operated from 1993 until 2017, Ma’yan created innovative Jewish feminist ritual (including popularizing a feminist women’s seder), groundbreaking research, and programming that addressed gender-related issues from women’s philanthropy to social justice education for Jewish teen girls. If you participated in Ma’yan programming or were otherwise touched by Ma’yan’s work, we invite you to share your experience here. By submitting your story, you understand that it may be included in a project documenting the history and impact of Ma'yan.

I can’t put together a story about my experience with Ma’yan but I was one of those women who began going to the feminist Seders from the very beginning and loved them. Why can’t it be done again? Many/most of the young girls you work with or older ones would LLOVE TOATTEND ONE.
