How They Let us Go

Alla Aberson describes the mental, physical, and financial process of repeatedly applying for and being denied exit from the Soviet Union, and how she convinced her parents to continue trying. Despite their dwindling hope and disinterest in remaining connected to their local community, they eventually received a “message from Hashem” — the miracle of a way out.
