Shelly Zer-Zion

Shelly Zer-Zion is a doctoral student in the department of theater studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and teaches there. Her Ph.D. thesis deals with the relationship between German-Jewish theater people and intellectuals and Hebrew theater troupes during the 1920s.

After a tumultuous war-torn childhood and immigration journey from Ukraine to Israel, Zohar rose to fame working under director Hy Kalus and won an Israel Prize for her noteworthy performances.

Lia Koenig

Lia Koenig is known as the First Lady of Israeli Yiddish Theater for her complex roles in world drama. After immigrating to Israel from Poland in 1961 with her husband Zevi Stolper, she began her legendary career at the Habimah theater. Koenig was awarded the Israel Prize, the Israel Theater Prize, and the EMET Prize.
