Christine Sumption

Christine Sumption is director of dramaturgy at Seattle Repertory Theater, where she edits Prologue magazine, serves as production dramaturg and produces the annual Women Playwrights Festival in partnership with Hedgebrook, a Whidbey Island writers’ retreat. Playwrights with whom she has collaborated include Tanya Barfield, Jessica Hagedorn, Theresa Rebeck, Sarah Ruhl, Victoria Stewart, Kathleen Tolan and Alice Tuan. Among her credits as a dramaturg and director are works with Seattle Children’s Theatre, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Wisdom Bridge Theatre, the Art Institute of Chicago, Sense and Nonsense, Inc. and Theatre Company Subaru in Tokyo, where for three years she was resident director.
