Tamara Cohen

Tamara Cohen is a Jewish feminist writer and educator living in Gainesville, Florida. She serves as the spiritual leader of the Greater Washington Coalition for Jewish Life and consults for Ma’yan: The Jewish Women’s Project of the JCC in Manhattan. She is currently completing her Master’s thesis on the radical origins of the American Jewish feminist movement of the 1970s, composing a Women’s Omer Calendar in conjuction with Kolot: The Center for Gender and Women’s Studies at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and teaching at University of Florida. She is a board member of Brit Tzedek V’Shalom: The Jewish Alliance for Justice and Peace, a past board member of Jews for Racial and Economic Justice and a co-founder of Jewish Activist Gays and Lesbians.
