Shannon Sarna

Shannon Sarna is a Project Manager at UJA-Federation of NY. She is also an avid tweeter and food blogger, writing "The Nosher," part of MyJewishLearning.com. Shannon has also served as the Communications Manager at The Samuel Bronfman Foundation in New York, NY and as special assistant to former President Avraham Infeld at Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life in Washington, DC. She studied Comparative Government and Spanish Language and Literature at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. When she isn't tweeting, eating, or tweeting what she's eating, Shannon spends her time in Jersey City, NJ with her daughter, adopted dog Otis, and husband.

This year it’s been 15 years since my mom passed away from Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and I think this past year has actually been one of the most difficult without her.

When my mom first died, some people warned me how difficult it would be not to have her down the road, especially during lifecycle events such as weddings, children, and other moments of joy. Well, they were right.
