Bibliography: Allais, Paul, Ella Snell Gara, Nellie Killiam, Rose H. Mergentheim, and Ernest Moeller. Fannie Bloomfield Zeisler Appreciation (1927);

Ernest Moeller, blind pianist, was my father's oldest brother. Ernest was born in Tiffin OH Sept 21 1903 and passed in Chicago July 17 1990. I am named for him, Karl Ernest Moeller. Yes, I am a pianist, an enthusiastic amateur by comparison.

Family lore had it that Ernie, blind since age 3 due to diptheria, was a prodigy and who drew the attention of Joseph Lhevinne and of Fannie Bloomfield Zeisler. Ernest had a rocky career; being blind, he soon acquired a paranoia about managers cheating him. He married an artist, a woman who did little to soothe his fears of being cheated. He got a reputation in the Chicago area for being a difficult person to deal with, and consequently had a lackluster career. He did have a period between 1940 and the early 1950's playing occasionally with the WGN Radio Orchestra.

I was unaware of the book mentioned above. Your site is the sole mention of it, at least as far as Google searches reveal.

Thank you for verifying some family lore for me.
