My husband, Menashe Broder, and I were in the first play directed by Dora Wasserman, and in many other plays after that. The group began with graduates of the Jewish People's Schools, and not as you have written. We began rehearsals in the autumn of 1956 and we presented "Der Arendar" by I.L. Peretz in the spring of 1957. The success of that play led to many others, and various people who were not graduates of the Folk Shule joined in. After several years, the graduates of Dora's children's theatre were old enough to join the adult group. Except for this error, your article is very good. I would like to add that for us, young amateur actors, Dora's theatre was also a social club, a home-away-from home, and a place to hang out. Dora was our advisor, our mentor and matchmaker. She had a great impact on all our lives and we remember her with great love.
