I am reading this book now (in portuguese - I am brazilian). ETHEL is the name for TANIA. NINA (not TINA) is the name for CLARICE. In page 11 (brazilian version NO EXILIO - 3rd edition), has the following passage: "Instintivamente Lizza achegou-se ao pai. Nina soltou um vagido, que a mÌÄå£e abafou, dando-lhe o seio. Ethel (de dois anos de idade) continuava a dormir." In english, this passage could be translate like this: "Lizza instinctively drawing closer to his father. Nina make a noise, and her mother give the breast to her. Ethel (two years old) was going to sleep".
