In response to Leah's comments - The Landy family, from which Rae Landy is part of, was known as the Landsman family in Sirvintos, Lithuania. The clan patriarch and matriarch, Chaim Ephraim Landsman and Esther Yudilovitz Landsman, had six sons who all settled in America. They are (in birth order plus the name of their wives): Jacob (and Eva), William (and Anna), Louis (and Ida), Hersh (and Hannah), Morris (first wife name unknown and Fanny), and Aaron (and Faga). Rae Landy, who is the subject of this JWA entry, is one of ten children of the oldest Landy son, Jacob Landy, and his wife Eva Trotsky Landy. The Landy Family did have annual reunions for many years. In later years they were more sporadic; the last one that I am aware of occurred in the 1970's. (I also have a movie made from two "Landy Family Picnic" summer reunions in the early 1930's that include images of Rae Landy and dozens and dozens of her family members.)
