I had the privilege of being introduced to and later befriended by Mrs Margot Klausner during a period when I made use of the studio and laboratory facilities at Herzliyyah in the mid 1970's. Invited on several occasions to soirees at her home allowed me to the freedom to witness at first hand her passion for music and the arts - these were halcyon days, never to be forgotten. to be cherished for ever! On one wonderful occasion, as I recall it was a Saturday, and on a working visit from South Africa to complete some post production work on a feature film that I had produced with Miriam, a remarkable colour grading specialist, I received a call from Margot who requested that I should keep an eye out for a group of people from Disney who were at the studios who, as she put it, were working on a film about a fish! Following instructions I did as she had bid and made contact with the team of American film-makers who were in town to do a few lines of post-synchronisation with the English actor Robert Shaw who was in Israel working on another film for the director Menahen Golan. During a break in the dubbing process an irritated Mr Shaw shared his complaints with me over a bite in the commissary. He confessed that he was having difficulty with the studio system of post synching. I explained how South African films were dubbed and suggested he should perhaps suggest this process to the American producers who had flown from the US to post-synch the twelve lines of dialogue. To cut a long story short - the South African method worked and later that day I reported to Mrs Klausner that everything had worked out well for the Americans - I also mentioned that the film had not been a Disney film about a fish but was a Universal Pictures production directed by Steven Spielberg called 'Jaws'!
