I read this account of Ms. Kempner's life as a Partisan with great interest. My cousin, Yasha Mazovetzky (surname changed to Mazovi when he moved to Israel after the War) lived a similar life of a Partisan in the forests of Poland with a few other Jews. There was a long article about him in a book about Jewish partisans. I met him and his experiences were very similar to those of the woman described in this story. It's amazing that a few survived.
