Dr. Jochberger took a chance by allowing me to teach at the Hebrew Arts Academy, I was a very raw guitarist and entertainer in NYC without a formal music degree. Well before the H Arts building, she utilized space in public schools, after hours. At that time the music program in NYC public schools was decimated by an ongoing budget crises, as was the fine arts program. I used her patience with me, not to mention the income from teaching at her program,
I was able to go back to college and earn a degree in music composition, and this was the time of turbulence in America (both in terms of the struggle for civil rights and the war in Vietnam), many of my fellow musicians dropped out of college and I became a role model for friends, mostly other music guitarists. They emulated me by going back to school part time and earning their degrees in Music. This diploma enabled them to obtain teaching positions in various music schools and similar free lance situations.

I was able to form a positive self image, thank to her help and support. This really helped me carry on after my disabling stroke and right sided paralysis later in my life. I deeply respect her trust in me "and authority figures" and role models such as she help form the core of my moral center.
