I do think the comment that Hasbro "has refused to produce guns, violent action figures, or other toys that might promote aggression or antisocial attitudes," is amusing. While I do not doubt Hasbro's interest in promoting healthy values in children, I also think you must acknowledge that Hasbro makes toys the market wants - including GI Joe. If GI Joe isn't the model upon which all violent action figures since the 1960s have been based then I guess I need to brush up on my toy history. Not that I'm saying GI Joe promotes aggression or antisocial attitudes, I'm just saying he does tote guns and he is a fighter.
