I can see that both Abraham and Sarai was wrong. If you look back to Adam and Eve, you can see that the same similar circumstances occurred, and drastic circumstances followed. Adam took Eve's advice when she was deceived by the serpent to eat the forbidden fruit. Abraham took Sarai's advice when she was deceived with doubt. She doubted God's divine ability to give her a child through Abraham(Which could be understood in her own mind because of her age, and lack of patience).

It was traditional to give a daughter/sister/close female relative to cement an alliance between kings or chieftains, so it is likely that Hagar was significant, and of great importance to Pharaoh when he gave Her to Abraham and sent them away after Pharaoh and his household was cursed with diseases because of Sarai.

Is it a coincident that Sarah and Abraham was given Hagar maidservant/ slave by Pharaoh because he experienced the greatness of the G-d of Abraham, and when they mistreated Hagar, and Ishmael. There seed were slaves to Pharaoh, and mistreated for 400 years? Was this how G-d truly felt about the mistreatment of Hagar, and Ishmael? As long as earth remains, there has always been seed time, and harvest(Genesis 8:22). If you plant corn seed, there will be a harvest of corn. God is not mocked whatever a man sows, that shall he reap(Galatians 6:7). Could 400 years of slavery be G-d's punishment because of the embarrassing behavior of His Patrons of Faith to an unbelieving Pharaoh?
