Reading this, I realize that Jesus must have been speaking about saris in Matthew 19:10-12: , "Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given. 12For there are "eunuchs" who were born that way (saris hamah?), and there are "eunuchs" who have been made "eunuchs" by others (saris adam?)-and there are those who choose to live like "eunuchs" for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it." In your understanding, what could he have meant by the third category? Declining to procreate (since you write that saris best translates as sterile), or declining to marry at all? Just interested although I stopped believing in christian doctrine. Thank you!
