I am an Israeli filmmaker based in Chicago. Some of my documentaries could serve as a source for discussion about the role of women and feminism in Israel. I will soon have an on-line link to these sources of interest:

In 1977, while working for Israeli Television, I made a documentary about ABORTIONS that help legalize abortion in Israel (I do not have a copy of this film)

In 1977 I ran for the Israeli Knesset under the Marcia Freedman ticket and made the TV commercials for the Women's Party.

TO BE A WOMAN SOLDIER (1981,50 Min), - a film by Shuli Eshel This enlightening documentray, the first of-its-kind, exploded the myth of equality between the sexes in the Israeli army and was a driving force for change for women's roles in the IDF in the early 80's.

WOMEN'S PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST (1991 27 min) - a film by Shuli Eshel This documentray explores the efforts made by Israeli, Palestinian and American women as they pave the road for peace during the Intifada, the Palelstinian uprising in 1987-1990.It includes MK Shulamit Aloni, Neomi Chazan, Alice Shalvi and others.

ONE STEP AHEAD, ISRAELI AND PALESTIAN WOMEN (1995, 25 MIN) - a film by Shuli Eshel a follow-up documentray to Women's Peace to explore the ways Israeli and Palestian women remain in the forefront of the peace efforts.
