Sitting here in regional Queensland, Australia over a breakfast bowl of rolled oats, somewhat restricted under the constraints of COVID-19, I read again Midge Decter's article, 'For the Family' (Policy Review Winter 1984). I think that is a brilliant piece of work and I'm so pleased I re-discovered it; as relevant today as it was almost 40 years ago. I'm not as familiar with Ms Decter's other writings as I would like to be, but I'll spend some time researching further.. I realise this lady is getting on but I take this opportunity to thank her and wish her well.
