I was touched in reading about Vera Dean. In 1964-65 she was my teacher of international administration at NYU where, thanks to a Fulbright grant, I got the Master degree in Public Administration (GPA 1965). She encoraged me to apply to the United Nations. She was a tall, beautiful and cultured wouman. I prepare the dissertation with her and I still have all the sheets with their correction and suggestion. I learned so much from her. When I think of Vera Dean I also think of Dean Ray Harvey, whom she admired so much as a fine and cultured man. As a matter of fact, Harvey was important too for my education: he suggested me to study also Marketing, a knowledge (at that time, quite new in Italy) which has accompanied me through out the professional life at the service of an italian multinational industry and recently as professor of Marketing (2002-2007) at the University of Florence. Thanks for your touching story about Vera Dean. Sincerely yours. Savino Chiariello
