Honestly, I did not do much research on Garcetti beyond the two stories I read that named him as another candidate, both of which described him similarly to the way I did here. It wasn't clear to me whether he identifies as Jewish, so I opted for slightly ambiguous wording in case he does not. Upon further research, I am still not clear on whether Garcetti identifies as with the Jewish faith, but his mother is, indeed, Jewish, which makes him the same. Thanks for pointing this out.
