As an avid fan of the Golden Girls, I've grown up watching the show, and the only way I can describe the feeling I get from watching it is feeling like I'm getting the warmest hug of my life, which is exactly why it's my comfort show! Without Estelle, the show would've been dull and I'm a firm believer that no one else could have ever portrayed Sophia Petrillo the way she was able to. Though I obviously never meet Estelle, I too grew very attached to her, and reading this beautiful piece about her life and accomplishments brought a few tears to my eyes. She is a true icon and an absolute light to this dim at times world, though she isn't here anymore(as of writing this, none of the Golden Girls are here anymore sadly)she and the other amazing women are forever immortalized on screen, so in my mind, all four of these incredible women will never truly be gone.
