A yearly pleasure here in Santa Fe is making rugelach with members of the congregation HaMakom. Considering the last minute, late night calls-- "please,I need one more box"--we may be responsible for sugar addiction in Jews and non-Jews. I even hear rumors of people wanting to convert if Judaism is truly this sweet and delicious (which it is). Not only are these raising funds for our passionate and progressive group, but oy, the things you learn about each other while rolling and schmearing. All secrets are safe here, though, if only because our lips are sealed with raspberry jam and cream cheese dough!
