Mina was an actress who was also a neigbhorhood character on the Lower East Side. In a neighborhood which has never lacked for drama queens, she fit right in and gave back as good as she got, if not better. Her productions (kitchen, street, and in the theatre proper) were well attended by neigbhors who loved her love for Yiddish, its theater and who shared her belief that she was creating a future that others could participate in.
