My mother always had a sewing machine. When I got old enough to sew I realized my parents were not even a little interested in buying me the clothes I wanted. When I began to be serious about sewing, I bought a number of Mrs. Margolis' books. They were treasured and a couple of them, duly swiped by my youngest sister. Her patternmaking book is my favorite. She inspired me to do more.

She was exactly the kind of person I suspected she was and how I regret not writing to her to tell her of the influence she had in my life. Someone I would have loved to have claimed as a relative as well as a friend.

Glad to have finally been able to learn a little more about her.
