Jaymie Saks has been named Chief Operating Officer for the Jewish Women's Archive (JWA). The appointment was announced by Gail T. Reimer, JWA Executive Director. As Chief Operating Officer, Saks will oversee the JWA's daily operations and manage the implementation of JWA's new five-year strategic plan.
"With her passion for the mission of JWA and her management experience in the for-profit sector, Ms. Saks will play an important part in helping us realize our ambitious goals," said Reimer.
Saks holds an MBA from The Wharton School, and has over 15 years of experience at a wide variety of for-profit organizations, including Computer Science Corporation and Fidelity Investments. Speaking about her excitement with her new position, Saks said "I was seeking a way to pull together my business experience with my commitment to feminism, women's history, Jewish history, and providing role models for girls. JWA is meeting a critical need," Saks continued. "JWA is raising awareness of the place of Jewish women in Jewish history and providing children with female role models in the Jewish world."
