On this site on June 21, 2004, Human rights activist Felice Gaer gave a speech entitled "Unlearning Intolerance: Anti-Semitic Incidents Are Not Hooliganism—They Are Human Rights Abuses; The United Nations Should Address Them As Such" at the United Nations Conference on Anti-Semitism.  Ms. Gaer is the Chair of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom and a member of the UN's Committee Against Torture.  She concluded her speech by saying, "In short, for Jews and everyone else - your rights are human rights, and human rights are universal."
