Nita Melnikoff Lowey has represented constituents in New York's 18th Congressional District since 1993. Before that, Lowey served as Representative for the 20th district from 1989 until 1993. She was also Chair of the Congressional Women's Caucus and the House Pro-Choice Caucus.
