Bald Girls Do Lunch was incorporated in 2007 as a 501c3 nonprofit. It is the only organization created specifically to provide a support network for women with the autoimmune hair loss disease, alopecia areata. Bald Girls Do Lunch was founded by Thea Chassin, resident of Westchester county, New York. The first BGDL events were held in Westchester and have taken place in states across the United States with requests for Chassin's program coming in from Israeli women and others around the world.
