Neuroscientist Helen Mahut received her Ph.D. at McGill University in physiological and comparative psychology in 1955. Born in 1920 in Kiev, Russia, Helen Mahut survived the Holocaust fighting in the Polish resistance. She came to Canada after the war and later taught at Northeastern University in Boston from 1966-1989. A pioneer in cognitive and behavioral neuroscience, she passed away in 2010.
