Marilyn Gilbert Artists Management, Inc. is the longest continuously running manager of classical and world music in Canada. Marilyn began her career working for Israeli violist Ribka Golani, (designated by the BBC to be one of the 200 most important instrumentalists and one of the five most important violists in the world). She was recognized as manager of the year in Canada in 2009. She has launched careers of many young Canadian artists and participated in the launching of the Toronto International Chamber Music Festival.

In 1986 Gilbert celebrated one of the first lesbian marriages in Canada, marrying Rabbi Elizabeth Bolton, who went on to become one of the first Canadians ordained as a Rabbi.
