Jewish Women on the Map - Kayam Farm
Location
At Kayam Farm, a 5 acre Jewish Educational Center located at Pearlstone Retreat Center, we have planted a fledgling Permaculture Forest Garden known as the Matriarchs Orchard. This land has been planted as a space for women to celebrate the cycles of life. It seeks to maintain harmony between people, culture, and the Earth. It is a place that brings together Jewish learning and ecological involvement. The garden provides edible fruits and herbs that can be transformed into teas, dyes, incense, and body products. Each fruit and herb symbolizes the embodiment of a woman’s spirit, and has been planted with the intention of providing health and well being to people and to the soil and environment in which they were planted. We welcome you to join us in celebrating womanhood in an ecological and spiritual learning space where integration of mind, body, and spirit is the key to maintaining a healthy garden and healthy selves. Join us in creating programs and events that celebrate the life cycle of womanhood, from Birth to Bat Mitzvah, wedding and remembrance; we would like the Matriarchs' Orchard to be a space of uplifting renewal and the celebration of life.
