Jewish Women on the Map - Josephine and Wyatt Earp's Grave

This is the grave site of Josephine Sarah Marcus Earp, wife of the famous Wyatt Earp. Born to German Jewish immigrant parents in Brooklyn, NY, in 1861, Josephine Sarah Marcus married Earp and they moved frequently around the American West. Later she helped write his autobiography and drafted a screenplay based on his exploits. After Wyatt's death, Josephine contributed to published and film portrayals of Wyatt's life, helping to establish an enduring American legend.
