Annette Newman was named United Jewish Fund & Council (Jewish Federation of St. Paul) Women's Division campaign chair in 1954, the youngest person in the country to head a Federation campaign at that time. In 1976 she served as the Federation general campaign chair, and from 1977-80 as president of the United Jewish Fund & Council, one of the few women in the country to hold a community leadership position at that time.
