Jessie Sampter was an influential Zionist educator, a poet, and a Zionist pioneer. Her quotation, "Simplicity is the peak of civilization," is found on this Himank Border Roads Organisation sign board in the Nubra Valley, Ladakh, Northern India.
The Himank Project started in Aug 1985. Himank is responsible for the construction and maintenance of roads in Khardung La, Tanglang La and Chang La passes in Northern India. These roads are incredibly dangerous, so the Himank road signs featuring funny or interesting quotations keep drivers awake and alert.
