Jake and Annie Livshis were Russian immigrants who settled in Chicago and became involved in the anarchist movement of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. They were close to the great anarchist leader Emma Goldman, who often came to stay at their house when she was speaking and working in Chicago.
