Gloria Wasserman, known as "Annie," was a fixture at the Fulton Fish Market for decades. She recently passed away and was profiled in the New York Times. Annie was "somewhere between a bag lady and a pin-up girl, a huckster and a philanthropist." She sold cigarettes and candy bars and kept her money in deep pockets sewn into her clothes. She was a Jewish mother to the many of homeless women she knew. She gave away everything she earned and even put her grandaughter through college. Read more about her unique story at Jewesses with Attitude. Photo: Fulton Fish Market in New York City by Martin Dürrschnabel.
