Location

Colorado state capitol building Denver, CO
United States

There are sixteen stained-glass windows in the dome of Colorado’s state capitol, each one illustrating a pioneer who was an important influence on Colorado’s development. Among them is one woman, Frances Wisebart Jacobs (1843 – 1892). Known as "the mother of charities," she founded the Hebrew Ladies’ Relief Society, the Denver Ladies’ Relief Society, and started a sanatorium that later became the National Jewish Hospital.
