"Barbara's Bench" is a memorial bench dedicated to community volunteers that make Sandpoint special, especially Barbara Veraniam, "a woman of vision who truly cared about community a worked tirelessly to create a cleaner, healthier and more peaceful planet." Among her many activities, Barbara organized the Jewish Community of Sandpoint until her death in 2004. ("Yes, Virginia, there are Jewish people in North Idaho!!")
